” THE LITTLEST FEET MAKE THE BIGGEST FOOTPRINTS IN OUR HEARTS”
Why book Matilda Q Photography? I am a mum myself, and I have plenty of experience handling and photographing babies. I only book one session a day, which allows plenty of time to feed and comfort your baby throughout the shoot. I’m entirely baby-led; they decide the pace of the session. I have had many lovely comments from parents who mention my caring and loving style when working with their little ones. This patience and care are how I create such a varied and beautiful gallery of images. How long will the shoot take? It’s usually between 2 and 3 hours because we allow time for the baby to be settled and comfortable. TO ALLOW TIME FOR FEEDS, CHANGING, AND SETTLING. What if the baby won’t settle? I am a baby-led photographer, meaning if the baby is awake, we will take some gorgeous shots and capture that fantastic eye contact of a nosy baby. When they want to sleep, I will allow them to be completely comfortable and relax into natural poses. If, in very rare circumstances, the baby is ill or completely unsettled, then it would be entirely possible to reschedule for a date in the near future when the baby will be more at ease. What poses and props should we expect? A lot of parents express concern about posing and the possibility of the baby being uncomfortable. May I take this time to reassure you that I never pose the baby or place them in props when they are uncomfortable? This means that I only move babies into poses that they naturally go into themselves, and I only do this when they are content and safe. I pride myself on this natural style of newborn photography which shows off your baby in a beautiful, relaxed position artistically posed and decorated with bespoke accessories and props. When do I need to book? Most customers book their session before the baby arrives, after their 12 or 20-week scan. However, I know life never goes to plan and babies always surprise us! Therefore, I limit how many newborns I take a month so that I can usually accommodate all photo shoots. What if my baby has already been born? If your baby has already been born and you feel like you have missed the newborn stage but would still like similar photographs taken of your baby, please get in touch. I have photographed many older babies, which is usually not a problem. Sometimes, mums prefer to wait a little while until they are more settled in with a new baby before getting photographs taken. I have taken beautiful photographs of babies in a newborn style up to 8 weeks old! How much will it cost? The session fee for a newborn portrait session is just £50 and includes a 2-3 hour session in my studio with full use of props, outfits, and accessories. There is always time included for a family portrait session and additional sibling shots if required. It also includes all professional editing and personal viewing of your gallery of images. The session fee is deducted from any packages. All digitals and prints can be purchased individually or as part of a package with a £349 minimum spend (Only £549 for ALL digital images )
